If You Have More Time

Collect MORATORIUM RESOLUTIONS from local community organizations, faith groups, schools and businesses. Resolutions are like group petitions that various groups of people can sign onto in support of suspending executions. Each resolution passed is followed up with letters to representatives and added to a national and statewide tally. Pennsylvania currently has nearly 200 resolutions.

HOST A SPEAKER in your community. PADP has an extensive and growing Speakers Bureau composed of murder victims’ family members, death row exonerees, professionals from the legal community and abolition activists that are available to present their experiences to local audiences both large and small.

Social butterfly? Try hosting a HOUSE PARTY to raise money and awareness about capital punishment. Turn your regular weekend get together or picnic into a call for abolition. Your friends and family will gladly hang out at your house if you provide food and drinks so why not combine your activism with your social calendar?

Get involved with our WRITERS BUREAU. You will be given the opportunity to write letters to the editor of your local and statewide newspapers via weekly email notifications. You can pick and choose what you would like to write and thorough talking points will be provided for your convenience and assistance.

Consider volunteering to TABLE LOCAL CONCERTS AND EVENTS. Simply set up the PADP table when your favorite band comes to town. Conferences, art shows, peace and justice exhibits, rallies for like minded organizations are other events that often allow groups to table. This is a great way to sign up new members, recruit activists for your local chapter and educate the public about the death penalty.
